Danijel Subasic – proud to be part of DrLuigi Family! 

 

Danijel Subasic, a professional football player from Croatia, now the goalkeeper for Hajduk Split. With Zadar and Hajduk, Subasic started his professional career in Croatia. In the three and a half years after moving to Hajduk from his previous club Zadar, he made a total of 126 official appearances for HNK Hajduk while recording 47 clean sheets. 

He joined Monaco in January 2012 and played 292 competitive games for them during an eight-and-a-half-year span. He won Ligue 2 in 2012–13 and Ligue 1 in 2016–17, the latter of which saw him also be awarded the league's Goalkeeper of the Year.

On November 14, 2009, he made his debut for the national team against Liechtenstein in a friendly game.

He made a significant contribution to Croatia's historic triumph over Argentina at the 2018 World Cup in Russia by playing outstanding defense. The final score was 0:3 in Croatia's favor. In the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he participated in a game. Croatia advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to Subasic three penalty kick saves against Denmark in the round of 16 match, which ended 1:1.

On August 15, 2018, at the age of 33, he retired from his international career as a football player after taking home the world silver.
