Marin Leovac is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a left defender for NK Lokomotiva, but he is also a proud member of the DrLuigi family. Marin knows that our medical footwear is the best choice not only for him, but for all athletes, as they are made with our special design techniques and contain anatomically adjustable polyurethane soles.
But let us tell you more about Marin. He started his career in Austria in July 1997 with Sportunion Aschbach and signed with USV Oed/Zeillern in March 2001. In August 2002, he signed a contract with FK Austria Wien, where he spent three seasons before making his first-team debut in the 2009-10 season. In his first season with Austria, he made eight Bundesliga appearances.
In the 2013-2014 season, he helped Austria Wien reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League when he scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in Zagreb.
In January 2014, Leovac signed for Croatian club Rijeka for a reported transfer fee of 250,000 euros and helped the team win the Croatian Cup. He then played for PAOK, a Greek professional football club, and stayed there for three seasons. On February 6, 2018, PAOK reached an agreement with Leovac's former club Rijeka for a six-month loan until the end of the season with an option to buy worth €1.3 million.
On June 18, he signed a contract with champions Dinamo Zagreb for an estimated transfer fee of 500,000 euros. Leovac scored his first goal for Dinamo on August 3, 2018, in a 3-0 win over Istra in 1961.
As for his international career, Leovac was born in the town of Jajce in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also holds dual citizenship of Austria and Croatia. Thus, he was eligible to represent all three countries in international football. He ultimately opted for the Croatian national team, for which he made his debut in 2014. On October 27, 2016, Leovac was called up to his home country's national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Iceland. On November 15, 2016, he was in the starting eleven for a friendly match against Northern Ireland.
Marin is now part of Croatian First Football League and is a great asset to his team. His DrLuigi family wishes him a good season and a successful career.
